Default What percentage of people are on each day?

What I mean is, would the graph of the number of birthdays of people living in one latitude band be flat or sinusoidal or some other shape?

are a higher percnetage of people in the northern US born in march as compared to september?

I have googled this damn problem and I just can't get it to get a good answer at all. Maybe it is too specialized a question...

http://anybirthday.com/report.htm

I found this, you can see a graph at the bottom. Not sure how they gather their information but it's something.

I am wary because of how spiky the graph is. I would expect something a bit more smooth. I mean, what sets April 11th apart from April 12th? There shouldn't be much difference between the two, if there is any form of trend behind conception times.

Probably just too low a sample size. If they wanted a smooth graph, continuous for all 365.25 days of the year, the number of people the'd have to pull data on would be astronomical. As is, we get the general shape at least.

I doubt that. The following comes from the site FAQ:

Our database contains well over 135 million records.
That seems like a fair sized sample group. Or do think they should use something more like a [u]billion[u] records?

But he's also asking about latitude bands... I assume because you're wondering basically if people at the equator make the sign of the two-headed couch monster more often because it's easier to when it's warm and there's less clothing to take off.

I don't think you could get a definitive answer for this, but considering that there is no such thing as a 'mating season' for humans which required warmth in order to mate, I doubt that there would be much of a difference.

I think it actually works in the reverse, if you look at the site's stats-

People conceive the most in the winter. I guess because it's so cold you stay inside and have nothing better to do?
