Serious and profound theological discussion underway here, and all you people want to talk about are anuses and penises. Harrumph.

Listen, mate, I'm very attached to my anus. If God is going to wipe it away the minute I get to Heaven the least I can do is give it some serious thought and discussion.

Hey, maybe it's not so bad!

If Badfish gets his anus wiped away in heaven, too, at least it will shut him up!

Well all right then. Come to think of it, that is a far more serious theological concern than all this "Saved By Grace Alone" bollocks.

Yes it does. So maybe Paul is right. You can sit on the couch watching The Bachelor, stuffing yourself with Usinger's bratwurst and Pabst Blue Ribbon, while your neighbor's house burns down, your mother is calling because she's about to get raped but you're too lazy to answer the phone, and your one-year-old daughter is in the next room getting strangled by the venetian blinds cord, yet you don't lift a finger to help, and when your grease-clogged arteries finally give out, *poof*, there you are with Jesus simply because you "believed on Him." And all because you may have felt a twinge of pride within yourself for actually having done something to prevent these things.
You can't rightly draw such an inference from the writings of Paul without taking them absurdly out of context. "Believing on Him" isn't just mouthing the right catechism. Not being a Christian myself I'm not qualified to say exactly what it DOES mean, but if I thought it meant what you think it means I'd be spitting on Christianity with the rest of you.

Why not. "Saved By Grace Alone," which is how I've been characterizing this alleged doctrine from the outset, sets "Grace," which comes from "Faith," against "Works." That much is clear from Ephesians.

I never said it was. The fat guy from Eau Claire I described was a True Believer™. True Belief™ obtains from a whole mess of metaphysical gibberish, so you can't legitimately and objectively challenge Eau Claire guy's beliefs.

I'm not "spitting on Christianity," and once again don't appreciate having such a sentiment attributed to me, and probably neither do many of the "rest of them."

What's with that book of life anyways? You'd think he could remember, or at least have a computer database, jeez.

Incidentally, I will concede that "Saved By Grace Alone" is a debased caricature of real Christianity (whatever that is); nonetheless there are apparently people wandering around that subscribe to it.

If you'd like to discuss the deeply theological question of "will we have anuses in heaven?" please open you own thread - preferably in ~Elsewhere~ - HJ asked a reasonable question and his thread is being hijacked.
