The gods of non x-ian religions.
What are some of the gods from other religions. Preferable from older religions that still have a wide following in the world today other than Islam.
The reason I am asking is because I want to be able to fire back with facts of some other god or gods when an x-ian ask me why I don't believe in their god. Heres an example of the way I would suspect a conversation would happen with that argument. (xian) So why do you not believe in god? (me) Well why do you not believe in the god of x religion? (xian) Because it says in the bible (quotes verses) that this god is the true god. (me) Well religion x has scripture much older than the bible that says their god is the only true god. So why do you not believe in that god? (xian) because so many peole have felt the spirt of the lord that I know that this is the right religion. (me) religion x has had many more followers for longer than christanity that make the exact same claims, so why is yours so special and why don't you believe in it? So what would be the best religion "x' for me to plug in there guys? |

There's about a million Hindu gods you can choose from. You can read up on Gnosticism which is a rather interesting, and better take on the bible in my humble opinion. You can turn to the Egyptians or you can find the Babylonian myths from which Judaism is derived. Or Zorastarianims which introduced the concepts of good and evil definitively. Why not be funny and plug in Zeus?

Why stop with gods? Why not go into mythology that plays a part in literature that many believed to be true?
A la Beowulf vs. Grendel? In a sense though, it is pretty much universally agreed to be false now, but back then, since stories were spread by word of mouth, many believed this story to be true. :boohoo: There once was a man named Beowulf... |

How about Taoism and buddism which doesn't recognize any god head.
