I was most tickled that he got hung up on the fact that it is a "pigment" and he could not fathom how a "color" would produce a benfit in fighting the fungus.
I guess, therefore, melanin, being a pigment and all, must not have any role in UV protection... Then, of course, the greatest irony of all in the quote - consider 'directed mutations'.... |
