Talking hey KC

I saw this reply to you:

"I knew you wouldn't get it, KC, and I predict that you never will. Too bad. But I just don't have time for people who insist upon repeating a blatant error even after it has been carefully, and repeatedly, explained to them. Especially those who, failing to see an obvious mistake on their own part, try to accuse me of poor reasoning!! It is to laugh."

Considering the source, I think we will have to recalibrate the irony meter....

Yeah. I often hear creationists/Iders mewl on about how a neutral trait cannot become beneficial over time. I always throw the onion allele for pigment/fungal toxin example at them. I have yet to hear one EVER refute it in a coherent manner.

I was most tickled that he got hung up on the fact that it is a "pigment" and he could not fathom how a "color" would produce a benfit in fighting the fungus.

I guess, therefore, melanin, being a pigment and all, must not have any role in UV protection...

Then, of course, the greatest irony of all in the quote - consider 'directed mutations'....
