Cool Hello

Hello All - I am a strong atheist, and new to this forum. I actively post on atheists.com under the same name. To get things started here, I am going to repost my original post at atheists.com, just so you guys can see my views before I start spreading my word around here. A word about myself, I am a 25 yo male from Minnesota. A college student, husband, and father.

***I am sort of a closet atheist, my wife knows it and thats about it. My parents think I am going through a faze, and don't really know my true feelings. I really think that people have based their entire lives on a book written by nothing more than an old days televangilist and his followers. If jesus tried that today, the majority of us wouldn't pay any attention to him. But back then, people were not educated, and much more superstitious. Imagine how easy it would be to "heal a blind man" or "rise from the dead" in a time when there was no such thing as practicing medicine. Over the years, children have followed in their parents footsteps with religion, basically conforming to what they are taught as a young, impressionable child. I consider myself lucky, I didn't fall for it. As far back as I can remember, I felt uncomfortable in a church, (I was raised a catholic, or at least my Mother tried to). I am not going to stant here and tell you that I know that there is no god, nobody knows either way. I just look at whats in front of me, and go with my feelings. I'll close with a phrase I heard every Sunday at church. "The lord is my shepard, I shall not want." SHEPARD? Sounds and looks to me like religous people are just like sheep, blindly following the farmer to the slaughterhouse.***

Later, Cappy
