Pardon this tangent...

Remember when they used to name high schools after specific people?

I mean you might as well say that "if we are descended from bacteria then we are no more than bacteria." Whoops! Guess I'd better stop playing the piano, because bacteria can't play the piano.
The analogy get's even better, "If I am descended from a single cell then I am no more than a single cell." Anybody what to guess what the "single cell" I am alluding to?

They should rename it to "Person high school" so it isn't sexist.

Default Pi vs Pie

The Kansas School Board went through the same thing some time ago.

But then you have to consider that the Kansas School Board also debated whether or not the number Pi should be eliminated from math studies ‘because it is not a real number”.

I will have to ask for a first hand reference for that. A lot of such claims originated from people taking satire stories as reality.

Yeah, that sounds dubious. But they might have debated whether or not to teach i. "Imaginary numbers?! I'm not gonna waste our budget teaching imaginary numbers!!"

This is simply religious bias against those religions that teach The Fifty-onety Commandments as the basis of morality.

It sure is wonderful to see my birth-state refusing to kowtow to the fundies. And there are plenty of them there.
