Default Tna

This is the first I have heard of TNA which seems to be a precursor to RNA and DNA.

The article from New Scientist

Quote:
"If nature was challenged to make threose or ribose, threose is easier to make," says Albert Eschenmoser, whose team at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich first made TNA three years ago by painstaking chemical synthesis.
I am assuming that TNA brings us one step closer to solving abiogenisis. Although this is not stated in the article, that's my take on it.

Is this exciting or old news? Not that I want to be an expert on the subject, I am just curious what the scientific community position is on TNA.

Thanks

Well, I can't speak for the scientific community, but I suspect their position is that they like TnA. Most guys do, and most scientific types are guys, it seems.

(Sorry, couldn't resist the ridiculous setup.)

You are the winner! I was waiting for that.

Now, on to serious discussion. I hope.
