I aced it, but almost got #7 wrong. There are two correct answers for it, but one produces a more pronounced effect and the other depends on lattitude. The months of detection add confusion as they almost coincide with the solstices.
Wording is why I'll always have a problem with these tests. Once you know enough, even simple questions like these can seem to have many correct answers. It turns into a game of guessing what the person asking the question means and expects. [ June 16, 2002: Message edited by: fando ]
|

"Thanks for taking our quiz. You answered 100% of the questions correctly."
But then, 'twas questions aimed at elementary school level, no? |

I get them all right but I thought the 2nd question (a 4th grade one at that) was actually interesting and made me stop and think.

I nailed them all, but I don't understand #10. I knew the answer was right, but I don't know why. Is it equal to a mole?

Well, as long as Darwin, Einstein, and all of those other heathen scientists who ate from the Tree of Knowledge are there, I'm okay with that. Besides, can you just imagine how mind numbingly boring it would be sitting up in Heaven for all of eternity, listening to Hovind espousing his tripe? |

I got 100 too.
There's an article in the new (summer) Free Inquiry that compares scientific knowledge with religious fervor. It's not on secularhumanism.org web site yet. Turns out that the USA has about the lowest score on the science test but about the highest in number who believe in god and percentage of church attedance. In fact, the theme of the issue is Atheism in America. [ June 16, 2002: Message edited by: GaryP ]
|
