An alternative to 'apologist'
When we accuse religios of making excuses for their god's inactions we call them apologists. They resort to pedantry and say - apologist, making a reasoned arguement ....
May I suggest 'excusist' and 'excusism' Being religious is an excercise in excusism. Twernt gods fault, he gave us free will. The simplest piece of excusism I saw came after 11/9 (UK style). Some priest wrote "God chose to do nothing". Hallelulia(spellcheck please), Praise his omnipotence. You can also say we live in an excusist society."'twernt his fault he stole that car his mummy didn't hug him enough" Or hugged him too often. Please tell me what you think.Don't be too unkind, you might hurt my fragile little mind. |

i totally agree with you. if God IS literally real, then he's snoozing at the switch, and we need a new Supreme Being.
and i agree with you about society in general. it's easy to make excuses. too easy, sometimes. no one wants to place the blame where it deserves to go, because that would raise uncomfortable questions about society. happyboy |

God is real and did strike on 9/11 and did a good job. The only thing we think is wrong is that it happened to us. All actions emerge from omnipotence and the only problem we have is that we don't like it when we suffer. |
