Gosh, you're lucky, Telemachus. Your Hotmail account won't let you have 3 Mb, so you're saved the burden!

I've been known to play a spot of Go. I've been playing off and on (mostly off) for about 20 years. At my best (my coworker was 1-dan) I was up to about 6 kyu, but lack of practice has worsened my skill.
Still, I would definitely be interested in playing sometime, especially if you promise not to laugh at my amateurish errors. |

Seriously, if you're interested, I can post the URL of the GO server here where you can register and play for free (ignoring online time costs, that is) |

The game of Go is one of my favourites, which is somewhat suprising since I am so damned shitty at it.
Go is a great example of emergent properties. Very simple rules of play (the rules are incredibly simple compared to chess, monopoly, or even poker) interact to form chaotic yet beautiful patterns, and deceptively complex strategy. I'll probably surf over to that server this evening. Looking forward to having you guys kick my ass. |

Did anyone else have trouble selecting their rank on WWgo? I found the menu (using IE) only provided ranks of 10kyu and better--that is to say ranks 11 through 26 were missing. I registered with 10kyu with the hope of lowering(or is it raising) it, but I discovered that this is disallowed.
Did anyone else encounter a problem like this? The website definitely indicated that you should be able to select a lower rank. I guess it really wouldn't matter if I sucked less. |
