Default Answer this question for my friend please.

Not sure if this is the correct forum, but here is my friend's question.

"ok, there are dates BC and AD.

It is the year 2003 AD, so "after the death" of Jesus and BC dates are labeled as "Before Christ". Jesus was what? 33 when he died, so are those 33 years unaccounted for?

and secondly, we know it has been 2003 years since he died and we know God created man on the 7th day, so is it stated how much time elapsed between the two? Is it stated anywhere in the bible?

thanks in advance for anyone who knows the answers to these questions."

I am sure you lot will be able to help. thx

AD does not stand for "after death" but for "anno domini", which means "year of the lord". So the idea is that Jesus was born on Christmas day in the year 1 BC. The next year is then 1 AD. I've heard that the placement of the year 1 AD this way is actually off by a few years, but I don't know much about it, I'm afraid.

A.D. actually stands for anno Domini, which is latin for "Year of the Lord". A.D. starts the year Jesus was born, although this is almost certainly just a "best guess" by theologians. Regardless, Jesus is supposed to have died in 32-33 A.D. There is no missing time.

A.D. doesn't mean "after death", it stands for "Anno Domini" which in latin means "[in the] Year of [Our] Lord". It based on the traditionally reckoned year of the birth of Jesus although this date is unknown and most scholars estimate it to be around 4 B.C.

There's more info in the Wikipedia if you're interested.

Genesis 1 claims God created man and woman on the 6th day, not the 7th day (when he rested), so there's another problem.

And we don't know God created man at all. Some people claim he did.

As far as how much time elapsed, some guy a long time ago (can't remember his name; someone else can provide it) used the genealogies of the old testament to calculate the supposed date of creation - and I think his answer was 4004 B.C. He might have even given an exact date.
