Default Divine Powers?

Incidences of the mentioning of divine powers in the Bible.

In Psalms 82, we get the message(from God), that we are God's, children of the most high.

In the story about the Babel Tower, God says that God has to stop the tower being build, because otherwise all would be possible to humans.

Jesus, damn's a fig tree and tells his disciples, that they too can do these things, if they have faith as a mustard seed. Move mountains and whatnot.

If anyone believes in the bible, and that Jesus is real, then Jesus(God = I Am) says that we too can do this. And it would not be a sin to be able to float or see aura's or heal or whatever, as long as it is used lovingly.

So do we as humans have the ability to move mountains with our minds(which it essentially is), if we assume that God Is and that Jesus was God-realized?

What do you think?

I think your persistence in asking a crowd of atheists how many angels can hit off a single bowl is thoroughly perplexing. I've had my puff. Now I'm passing this bad boy to E.

No, we don't have such an ability. That's why we use explosives when we want to move mountains for construction work.

Jesus wasn't God. Jesus was a charismatic Jewish leader who tried to launch a revolution against the rabbinic institution of the day and for that was handed over to the Roman authorities for crucifixion. He was crucified and died and is dead, and was later made into a Messiah and a god by followers who refused to face the facts. "God is not a man ... neither the son of man ..." - Numbers 23:19.

As I recall, in that particular story, Jesus cursed and killed an innocent tree because it wasn't bearing any fruit. This was despite the fact that it wasn't the season for it to bear fruit. This throws grave doubt upon Jesus' compassion, wisdom, and intelligence.

I've met lots of Christians who claim that through faith one can move mountains. I've yet to meet even one who could move so much as a pebble with faith alone, much less a mountain. This throws grave doubt upon the notion that faith allows one to do extraordinary things.

My impression is that the suitable application of high explosives + faith is exactly as effective in moving mountains as is the suitable application of high explosives - faith. If I remember my basic algebra, one of these terms cancels out.

Cheers,

Michael

But they do chew a cud of sorts. It is't like that of a four chambered stomach animal, but you do see them setting there chewing on something. They get their chew from their anus. They should be viewed as the original recyclers.
