Vicar with no faith keeps his job
Vicar with no faith keeps his job
Does this mean it's ok to be an atheist vicar as long as you don't tell anyone you're an atheist? |

What was the vicar thinking to have made such a pronouncement? I suspect that many clergymen have lost their faith, but now they can be quite sure that they must continue to maintain the semblance of faith...

To be honest, I'm puzzled as to why the Vicar would *want* the job if he doesn't believe in the fundamental tenets of his faith.
Perhaps he thinks he's helping people which is part of what being a Christian is about? But then again, I try to do that and don't need a belief to validate my actions. |

Nine other priests (or vicars or whatever...) just went on public record criticising the bishop who reinstated Grosbøll. They raise all the obvious points about him not believing in the resurrection, etc. They seemingly don't want him fired though, but wants him to talk some more with the bishop so that he will realize the errors of his ways and start believing again. The drama continues...
