Pat Robertson has colon cancer...
...and will have it surgically removed.
(the story) Now, correct me if I am wrong, but near the end of pretty much every one of his 700 Club airings, he & his fellow "newscasters" get together and read letters from their ailing viewers, praying for them to be cured. Wouldn't this be a perfect opportunity for Robertson to showcase the awesome power of this prayer network by foregoing the surgery and having his staff simply pray for him on air? |

I wonder if this malady can be traced back to his umpteen-million years of shitting out the wrong end?

Make that prostate Cancer...
Anyway, yeah - what a GREAT opportunity to see the power of prayer! (Leaves dangling the question of why any truly faithful christian would want to delay their trip to heaven... "Whoo-HOOO! Just got my TICKet! I'm OUTa here, folks - see you on the other side! PRAISE GOD!" |

On reading the topic title, I smiled. YAY! People like Pat Robertson deserve to die as soon as possible. I welcome any bad news about their health eagerly. I hope the surgery has complications and he dies a painful death in the hospital.

As much as I despise the loathesome toad, I don't wish cancer on anyone. What irks me is that he will spend big money to get the best possible treatment (as he should) and, if it is successful, he will undoubtedly try to parlay his recovery into more $$ from his audience with his power of prayer patter, without giving credit where it's due.
Still, it would be a great opportunity for him to demonstrate the unadorned power of prayer, and I would be most interested to see what his flock would make of it if it was a total failure. On second thought, they would probably just resort to the "God's will" excuse. There's just no reasoning with a closed, circular system of thought. |

I don't hate Pat Robertson... I just disapprove of many of his ideas. I hope he gets better. Best of all would be a change of worldview. |
