The Christian Lobby Forum is not a typical discussion forum.

This is an ACTIVISM forum, where information is shared on issues of interest to the Christian community worldwide and specific action steps (send email/snail mail, call, etc.) are required of forum members.

It is my sincere belief that just a few of us CAN make a difference.

The ACLU and other homosexual activists (for example) have been very successful in every area of life - and their numbers are just a tiny fraction of Christians in this country.

Access to the forum: will be given to all BaptistBoard.com members who affirm their interest in the causes listed below and agrees to "take action" as described by moderators on the various upcoming issues.
Am I the only one who thinks that "take action" involves some fertilizer, diesel fuel, and a rental van?

I think you're being unfair. It looks like this Forum is following the talking points the Republican Party uses to convince the religious right that they have a home in their big tent.

I'm sure they discuss fertilizer and rental trucks in a secret forum.

"The ACLU and other homosexual activists..."

What can you say about people who think like that?

Talk about Bizarro world.

SheEagle911 is going to be a moderator ?????

She is far more effective at inciting flames than at quelling them.

I hope she can become a little more mild-tempered as a result, but I remain doubtful.

Brian

Yay!! My first post on the new board...just for kicks.

Their agenda:
Quote:
Issues of interest to Christian_Lobby:

Christian Persecution: Around the world, in over 40 countries, our brothers and sisters face daily persecution for their faith in Jesus Christ. "Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body." Hebrews 13:3.
Okay, fair enough.

Quote:
Politics: We will try to do something about how our politicians are changing the Judeo-Christian values that have underpinned our country and were the very foundation of our laws.
Yeah right.

Quote:
Education: Protect the freedom of homeschooling. Enable Creationism to be taught in Science classes, and discourage sex education which promotes/encourages so called safe sex.
But unsafe sex is okay... after all, the more misery there is, the more popular religion is going to be. Teaching religion as science also helps in removing that pesky disease of critical thinking from children's minds.

Quote:
Right-to-Life: Take an active part in stopping abortion, electing pro-life leaders, oppose euthanasia and cloning, etc. Since 1973's Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision, more than 43 million precious lives have been lost to abortion — one every 22 seconds.
Don't forget defending the good christian people who murder abortion doctors and bombing the clinics. Or better yet, you could be one of those christian warriors!

Quote:
Public Vices: stop the easy accessability, both in stores and online (gambling, porn, drugs, etc.).
Woohoo! Good ol' fashioned book burnings!

Quote:
Media: Join other organizations in objecting to the negative influence of television programs on our families.
"Help me, this tv show is giving me negative influences but I don't know how to change the channel! Whom should I give money in order to make the tv go away?"

* * *

I'm beginning to see why many of you follow BB... this stuff is amusing.

Yes and no. You may post something of interest in your country and we'll be more than glad to help

Besides, you could support us in Christian persecution worldwide.

Hmmm ... why is it that I feel little sympathy towards those missionaries who go into areas which are predominantly non-Xian (especially Muslim areas) and then are harrassed or even killed? You'd think they would learn about the culture that they're going into before they just barge in and attempt to make converts! [/rant]

Sorry, but as I once asked in another thread: how would these Xian missionaries feel if they suddenly started getting knocks on their doors (here at home) by Muslims, Buddhists, Jews, Satanists, Wiccans, etc.?

I also recall once a thread about 'Xian persecution' here in the US. A widely believed myth that is perpetuated by Xian ministers and activists.

Well, I do feel sympathy for the baptist missionary doctors who were recently murdered by a fanatical islamist in the Yemen. Whatever their wacky beliefs, they seem to have been there principally to minister to the medical needs of the community. Does anyone know how hard they try to convert the locals to xianity?

I caught part of an interview this morning about a Baptist program to train missionaries to go to Islamic countries. I think the interviewee was a writer for Mother Jones magazine, but I don't the the article on their web site. The interview said that Baptists are trained to get into Moslem countries by subterfuge to convert Moslems to Christianity, because Islam is such an evil religion. The young missionaries are told that they will probably be safe and the worst that will happen is that they get kicked out of the country, but that the people they convert are likely to be imprisoned, killed, or tortured - but they should still go ahead because it is important to save their souls for eternity.

Obviously, I do not support the actions of a government in torturing people for their religious beliefs, but the Baptists' efforts seem misguided. Which still does not justify murdering them.

I couldn't agree with your last paragraph here more. The folks sending the missionaries out there deserve some sort of punishment though, for misleading them into thinking they'll be safe, and maybe only "kicked out of the country." They should really know what they're getting into before they go. If they do and bad things happen, I don't feel quite so bad for them. :boohoo: I feel bad for their families, who have lost a member through some stupid beliefs.

Yeah, go ahead and convert them. If they're then killed, at least they'll have accepted Christ! :banghead:
