prophecies?
hello everyone,
I was curious if anyone had any information on bible prophecies. As a former christian, I have been presented with it throughout my life and would have to conclude that they are false. Here are a few examples of the inaccuracy of bible prophecy in reference to the second coming of christ. For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Fatherwith his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death*, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom. Matthew 16: 27-28 obviously those standing there did taste death and their was no second coming Jesus also tells his disciples: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the cloudsof heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass*, till all these things be fulfilled. Matthew 24:30-34 once again obviously that generation did pass and their was no second coming. These are only a few of many inaccurate prophecies contained in the bible. The above biblical references were taken from an article entitled "Why Jesus Isn't Coming Again" written by McClellan on freethough.freeservers.com |

Hi knightfall. Some will argue that part of Matthew 24 refers to the destruction of Jerusalem and Matthew 16 refers to the transfiguration and thus will conclude that your understanding of these "prophecieis" as false is actually false. Have you ever encountered this claim? Glenn Miller discussed the issue here:
