One of my favorite religious murderers is John Emil List, a devout mainstream protestant...possibly Presbyterian
John List was a devout Lutheran if I remember correctly. ( I read a book about him a few years ago) His main motivation was actually money (or lack thereof to me more precise). He couldn't support his family so he decided killing them off now when they could go to Heaven would be better than letting them live in poverty and possibly end up in hell. This was after he had run through tens of thousands of his mother's money.

Not that anyone takes such statements by you seriously.

I'm afraid the Christians here <flame deleted - liv>would define a Christian as someone who believes the Nicene Creed, would never justify the above listed sins and has a testimony of a life changed for the better through God's grace.

To be born again and proclaim a life changing testimony is equal to be protestant because Catholicism ends when an intimate personal relationship with the divine begins. At this time the Church has served its purpose and the enriched believer will now be angry and will protest against Catholicism for having been a hindrance to salvation. This is normal and just like Jesus did when he called the pharisees a brood of vipers. Things can only go wrong with him/her if and when he/she finds a protestant religion wherein all members are lost and as a group try to work out their own salvation. The reason for this is that "son of man" has no place to lie his head and therefore the protestant religion is really a highway to hell. I should add here that when we are "born again" we are "son of man" unless we have been led astray by carnal desire.

together and these same steps will be followed by all

I'm sure there are many people around the world who would consider themselves Catholic even though they don't meet up to the "true Catholic"©TM standards set by the Vatican. There's no one to check you on a census - if you say you're Catholic (and you attend a Catholic church), people will consider you Catholic. Hell, even Hitler considered himself Catholic (not to open up that whole can of worms again).

I don't think all of those priests who molested little boys (and the bishops who covered it up) could be called true Catholics©TM.

It's actaully the gospel truth.

It is well known that Catholics are sinners (we have confessions and confessionals to prove it). We do not proclaim salvation nor do we have salvation schemes and techniques. Many protestants agree that Catholics are not saved and we have purgatory to work out our salvation. In many churches charismatic born again members are not encouraged to mix with the faithfull.

To the point. Rudolph was affiliated with the "Army of God", which we here in this state of alabama have the dubious honor of being host to some of their nutjob leaders. Do a search for Opp, Al, and army of god...

most distressing, these whack jobs are....

Only two come to mind:

Ted Kaczynski and the young man who was putting bombs in mail boxes some summer(s) ago. (Though, either or both may be religious it didn't motivate their crimes.)
