Godless American Political Action Committee
Hi all,
I have just returned from the march on Washington. I am excited about the announcement of the new PAC, but I can't seem to find any information concearning it. Ellen Johnson made the announcement, but I think it will be independent of any existing organization. By the way, to all of you who couldn't make it; the march seemed a huge sucess. Thousands of protesters, good speaches, lot's of fun despite a sun-burn on only half of my face Deacon Fred's (Landover Baptist) speach was the hilight of the night as far as I am concearned. He had the fundies so mad the police had to come and restrain them. I wish you all could have seen it. Maybee someone recorded it and will post it for everyone to watch. |

Deacon Fred was having me laugh uncontrollably. His impersonation of an unctious fundie was just spot on.
Unfortunately, I was to the left side of the stage so when that fundie with the bullhorn started ranting "You should be ASHAMED of yourselves!!!" He started to drown the whole thing out. I whipped around and walked up to fundie-boy with my hand cupped to my ear shouting "What? I can't hear you!" before some nice old lady atheist stopped me because the cops were already there. If you noticed, the police car was a K-9 unit. I wish they let Officer Dog out for a little exercise, but I guess they figure once he gets a bad taste of fundie in his mouth, he might be reluctant to bite anyone else...ever. |

That's so great! I really want to know what Deacon Fred said that made all the fundies so angry.

Bill Schultz posted this link in this thread in the Political Discussions forum that seems to be in reference to the OP. The Secular Coalition website is just a picture and an email link right now, but I'm really hoping that this gets off the ground right!

To the best of my knowledge, the PAC mentioned by Ellen Johnson of AA has nothing to do with the Secular Coalition. So far, AA has refused to get involved with the Secular Coalition.

The sleazy delivery of Deacon Fred was just perfect. Often it was not what he said buy how he said it. I think the fundies were perfectly aware they were being laughed at and, in response, decided to become a little more laughable. Check out the sermons in text and real player: Pastor Deacon Fred's sermons [ November 04, 2002: Message edited by: Reverend Mykeru ]
|
