Default Proper use of emoticons

Since there seem to be enough people in the forums who don't understand that the emoticons or "Smilies" actually have meaning behind them, and aren't intended for decoration or to look pretty, I thought I would point out some of these meanings. Please feel free to add or correct.

For example:
generally means "I meant that in good humor"
generally means something like "... if you know what I mean", implying that the poster is either being somewhat sarcastic, or has a hidden meaning in their post
generally indicates extreme sarcasm in the person's post; or it can be used to indicate that another poster just has know idea what they are talking about.
:banghead: generally means "trying to get this point across is about as useful as banging my head into a wall"
:boohoo: basically means "cry me a river"; used to indicate that another poster deserves no sympathy for whatever it is they are whining about
:notworthy basically means "I'm not worthy!!!" Generally used to indicate that another person has said something that was extremely brilliant, or extremely funny, and that you are symbolically bowing down to their brilliance.

So they actually mean something, and are designed to enhance the message that a post has. Just sprinkling them around 'cuz they look neat is, I guess, people's prerogative, but it can make postings confusing or annoying.

Thank you for listening.
