Nobody. There are many people I respect but I would never try to emulate someone.

scarmig :

I second the Joss Whedon props but not for the reasons you listed....I could care less about spreading any view point. I love the man for putting a goofy yet serious, 'cool' yet well written product on TV.

I rather like:
Joseph Campbell
Mercedes Lackey
Rilke
James Randi
Anne Bishop
.........
Well the more I am thinking the more I come up with Orgs not folks:
CAPACITAR
World Relief
CDC - just cause they are fascinating...

Ok, I can accept your mispelling of "organization" 'cause you're obviously British, and they do funny things like that. But...

...not even the Brits mispell "throw" as "through!"

Or do they?

Is he the guy from "Army of Darkness"? Why him? Just curious, I don't know much about him.

I actually admire Zecharia Sitchin for having enough moxie to research and write about a topic labeled as "crackpot junk science/mythology".
Some people are never intimidated by prevailing ideas and have enough strength to espouse some pretty far out concepts.
Whether you believe what he has offered is something else, but just going against the established scientific and religious communities gets a vote from me.
