I do not understand the impulse to worship voluntarily. It seems to me not to be worship unless there is an element of coercion involved with failing to do so.

It's tempting to name some contemporary saint such as Nelson Mandela, but you know how these things always end up. About 50 years later, people who claim to have known him re-write his quotes according to their own prejudices, and withing a couple of centuries there's be mass killings in His name. I'm sure that would really piss off Mr. M.
