Don't laugh; that's my *best* match. Look at the other ads there for the Missouri men:

Titles:

Cool and Independent: The epitime of free-thinking
(seeks a woman 'intelectually' above average.)

Looking for a commited woman.
(Married already? Or, ready for...? 'commited' to whom?)

And then there's the guy who is

just lonly

I'm going to create an ad of my own:

kin anyboddy spell?

It's been a long time since I have a laughed out loud as much as I have since coming to this board. I've always found it hilarious when people write in personal ads that they demand someone that is their "intellectual equal" (or similar) when thier interests are Jerry Springer and Line Dancing, and the last great book they read was written by Danielle Steele.

(For clarification, I don't think that an interest in Springer, Line Dancing, or romance novels are in and of themselves indications that someone is not armed with an intellect, they're just solid clues. I admit that I have met interesting, intelligent people who are interested in these things... just rarely.)

BTW, maybe the one guy is looking for someone who is actually committed.

Wow, Cricket. I had slightly better luck up here. Only two (2) matches for the whole state of Minnesota, but only one is an automatic reject.

Minus one for the typo, and minus 10 for:

The "high maintenance" may or may not be a problem, but it's a trouble sign - especially with two spelling errors. I'd consider this girl but I suspect she wouldn't meet my very demanding intellectual standards and might be too needy for me.

This one looked OK:

Sorry, babe, but that's one of my favorite past-times.

So how long is the drive between St. Paul and St. Louis?

Hell if I know, but I'm worth it.

Or were you asking about daughter.

(if asking about granddaughters - no you smartass; none yet.)

For consorting with each other they should all be committed.

I'm still stunned that cricket is

--old enough to have a daughter heading off to college, and

--single

From that pic in the rogue's gallery, cricket, I thought you were in your late 20's!

Sorry that you're having poor luck in St. Louis. Probably even fewer single atheists there than there are in Madison Wisconsin.

Nope, your daughter is at least 8 years below my minimum dating age and 3 years younger than even my minimum casual sex age. You on the other hand are well within both ranges. But Gooch's Dad is closer to your age, is in better shape than I am, and owns a Labrador so is more desirable by any objective measurement.

Yeah yeah give me away; you're just mad because I BEAT you to the granddaughter remark. You so would have wanted to say it!

I agree about Labs; Kelly you are lucky; Labs are the, um, 'epitime'!

I wasn't trying to give you away so much as direct the discussion away from the discomfort I felt at my own irresponsible flirting.
