The Postal Service should set up a machine or something in the post office that will allow you to scan a picture and it will make a book of stamps out of them. That would be kinda neat.

A few years ago, this idea was proposed on an atheist list. People suggested that it would be good to have a stamp for Robert Ingersoll. Joel Barlow (associate of Thomas Paine and author of the words in the Treaty of Tripoli about the US not being founded on the Christian religion) was also suggested. I don't know if anything ever happened.

I ventured to read some of that BB thread, even though I try not to wade through that board.
I was quite pleased (and surprised) with posts by rsr and and Johnv in defense of the Islamic peoples, though I could have done without the claims of the US being founded on Christian principles. However, SheEagle9/11 never fails to make me sick. All of the positive points in that thread were just horribly offset with her acidic posts. She really, really scares me. I hope there's not a lot of her around. |

How about an image of the Michelangelo Sistine Chapel painting with Adam reaching out his finger towards God, but no one on the other side?

That BB thread is typical of True Christian (TM) causes. High on emotion and rhetoric, low on legal arguments. They all want to ban islamic stamps because they find them offensive. What's next ban Catholic stamps because the Baptists don't like praying to Mary. Okay, let's ban all Xian stamps and the American Flag because I'm sure there are people in this country who find those offensive too. Heck lets get rid of stamps all together and have free postage, because I find paying for stuff offensive.
It is amazing how they can ask for the government to recognize their religion and at the same time demand that the government not recognize anyone else. |

Wow, is that a scary place....
I like Trunks idea, that'd be pretty sweet. Unfortunately it would probably get abused. As for what I'd like to see on stamps...hmm, I might have to think about this. Does anyone know if there is a way to submit stamps to the Postal Service? Of course I could go to the site and try to find out, but I'm feeling much too lazy at the moment. I think a lot of bumper stickers would make good stamps, such as "One Nation, UnderEducated" |

TOM PAYNE!
Was there any doubt?
It would gall a few people, but it's fitting. |
