You mean . . . you have some man wash you every morning?

. . . not that there is anything wrong with that. . . .

Yes, I had that thing did to me, in spite of the fact that I was in a christian household. I'm still pissed off over it. I will make it quite clear when I have children that I don't want their genitals mutilated. You would think that would go without saying. Ugh!

When I read rubbish like this it makes we wonder why I ever considered becoming an atheist.

Sorry bro, you're a Christian forever.

Peace,

"But, that doesn't make any sense"
-"Yes it does"
"No it doesn't. Your supposed to go to heaven if you are a good person, right?"
-"Yes and no"
"Yes and no?"
-"You have to be a good person and perform the sacraments."
"But if your a good person, why do you have to perform the sacraments?"
-"Because you need to be cleaned of all your sins"
"But if your a good person, you wouldn't have sinned"
-"Everyone sins."
"Well yes, but I would think that if you did a lot more good than bad, then the good would cancel out the bad. As long as you really TRIED to be good. How does a silly ritual clean you of sins?"
-"It just does"
"This doesn't make any sense"
Oh, how this reminds me of one of my favorite George Carlin routines!

(Quoted from the Class Clown album)

You would take a very simple sin and surround it with the most bizarre circumstances you could imagine, to try to relieve the guilt in the sin; you'd usually end with the statement "Would that then be a sin then, Fadduh?" There was one sin, Not Receiving Communion During Easter Time. You had to perform your Easter Duty; you had to receive at least once between Ash Wednesday and Pentecost Sunday.... So it was like, "Hey, Fadduh! Suppose that ya haven't done yer Easter duty ... and it's Pentecost Sunday -- the last day! And you're on a ship at sea ... and the chaplain goes into a coma! But ya wanted to receive! And then it's Monday -- too late! But then you cross the International Date Line!" "Yes, yes, I'm sure God will take that into account; sit down!"

Why is this rubbish? It was just a fun idea to have a symbol that means something to me. I'm not totally upset that I was baptised.

Infant baptism does nothing but get the child wet. A child can't make the concious decision to accept or reject Christ, so Baptism is useless until they can make that decision. And as was said, unless you believe in what the Baptism symbolizes, and have faith in Jesus - the Baptism you had did nothing but get you wet.

Although, do you really hate Christianity that much that you have to seek out something to reverse the process? You act like Christianity is a disease. And if you think that, that is really sad.

At least taking a shower does something useful.

Sadly, you will probably never understand why someone would hate Christianity that much.

It really is a disease. Millions of people thinking they are sons of god while all the others are sons of satan. Needless dichotomy perpetuated. It is just a little better than the Islamic disease.
