Default Why wasn't the Bible given to Adam?

Why wasn't the Old Testament dictated to Adam? Or simply presented to him? If God felt like making a flaming sword, surely he could have given Adam and Eve a scroll or book with the new laws he had set down for them in their new lives.

Every time I read a passage in the OT or NT, I can't help but wonder what the people were supposed to think was right or wrong before God spelled it out for them. There are just too many grey areas when it comes to things like eternal damnation if you don't have the rulebook.

Surely, just giving Adam and Eve (that treacherous, free-thinking woman) God's law would've saved people a whole lot of trouble. Ahh...mythology.

I've read Genesis from the creation to Noah's flood and am also left wondering how people were supposed to know right from wrong. The ten commandments came later so it seems unfair to judge the people of Noah's time by that standard or any other.

Since you bring up the flood, maybe they did have a copy, but then stupid drunk Noah forgot to pack the two copies... then god had to write it all over again. Didn't come out so good the second time...

Maybe god did give a bible to Adam, but being the dolt he appears to be he probably left it somewhere. Like father like son.

Maybe the serpent stole it, he used the fruit to distract them...

"Hey kids, put that book down a minute, and try this."
*crunch*
"Hot damn, that's good shit. Adam, try it!"
*crunch*
"Yum."
"Hey, where'd that stupid book go?"
"Who cares?... ya know, this would be awesome baked. Go make me a pie, woman!"

Adam probably did receive these instructions, but on some soft ancient paper-like substance. He used them. That's why Moses got his instructions on stone.

Maybe because most of the content in the Bible occurred well after he was created.

God being omniscient could've given to him just the same But I think the point here really is why did it take so long for a book that was supposed to teach people to have moral values to come about? If indeed it's the true word of god.

Funny how god could create the universe in seven days but it took it a great deal longer to come up with the bible.
