Default Christians and heaven

What are christians going to be doing when they get to heaven?

Will the christians be just rolling around heaven all day with nothing to do?

If so I would find that boring.

From what I understand on the subject, they will be worshipping and loving god. There is also some kind of tier system there, like a fluffier cloud to strive to, so I would assume that there will be some god-ass kissing too.

God doesn't go into detail of what Heaven will be like. Its inconceivable to the human mind. But, no we won't be worshipping God none stop, all eternity long. He will have tons of stuff for us to do.

1Cr 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Not to mention the fact that the xian hope, according to the NT is not in "going to heaven" but in resurrection. Could you find me a historic xian creed that says xians ultimately go to heaven?

There is almost nothing written in the Bible as far as what Heaven will be like.

A sin of omission if you like but that is what it is. That is all we got. You got to deal with the hand you are given with the Bible.

So --------assuming there is a Godly reason for this most obvious omission in describing Heaven -----I think the reason is:

Heaven is whatever you want it to be. And that is what God wanted Heaven to be like.

If it is 72 nubile and very horny virgins--that is what you get. If you want to play football (or watch football and drink beer and eat chips) all day long that is what you get. If you want your deceased pets around you --that is what you get. If you want to sit in a corner and be sad all day that is what you get. Whatever you want in Heaven to make it a real Heaven for you---------that is what you get. And you can change scenarios any time you get bored. Think about an eternity of changing scenarios!!!!!!!!!!

How could Heaven be any good if people didn't like it there?

That is my story and I am sticking to it.

Any Fundies want to debate this?-------Remember there is almost nothing in the Bible describing Heaven.---------------and the only reason I can think of for this glaring omission by an omniscient God is that :

Heaven is everything we wanted life or an afterlife to be.

(And Hell is everything we did not want life or an after life to be.)

I disagree with you with in Heaven is whatever we want Rational.

First of all, having 72 virgins would be classified as a sin, that and God did tell us there is no marriage in Heaven.

I think the sky is the limit in Heaven, as long as doesn't fall under the realm of sin.

Heaven isn't really what you want it to be, because you don't know what you really want. As the verse in my previous post shows, no eye, hear or heart of man has any clue what God has in store for us. I can tell you however, sex and virgins won't be an option.

Nah, there's no afterlife.

Wow, a self-refuting post, how funny.

Magus55,

Why this attitude against sex? I think sex is beautiful...I cannot imagine that the world would get very far without it...it does seem to play a major role in the way things work in LIFE.

From my experience, it seems that most religious people (not all) have a negative attachment...almost a borderline perversion regarding sex?
