http://www.jcnot4me.com/Items/contra_craig/contra_craig.htm
is an interesting page outlining why Christians claim to be doing history when the study the NT are false. They believe blindly. |

What you say is true for at least some but certainly not all. It would be just as false to say that about the critics. Quote from the above site: "As far as I know, I never lost a debate." I always worry about people like that. He sound slike the guy who was asked if he was ever wrong and he replied "Sure, but never on theology". Care to guess what he was most wrong on? I was encouraged to join the debate team in HS because of my abilities. But, when I found that what was expected of us was to simply take a position and defend it without finding out which side was right in the first place I backed out very quickly. {I really have to edit better before hitting the post button!} [ August 31, 2002: Message edited by: David Conklin ]
|

Bah that's what makes it fun (well actually its goofy cases like "we will lose this debate" and "the movie top gun was the main cause of soviet defeat in the cold war") Also having to argue convincingly for positions you disagree with does a lot of make you more open-minded. |

the debate "contra craig" is losing is beyond his ability to understand. Craig can't see the forest for the trees. It reminds me of Khruschev's "debating brilliance" Khruschev (to the west-with "shoe" banging on table for emphasis "We will bury you!."

Smith is an ex-Christian who is reacting against his former faith, and has brought the zeal that he was taught to use against false faiths into his zeal against Christianity. He specializes in using the Bible to prove that Jesus was a false prophet. He claims that no one in Orange County CA is willing to debate him any more on the subject, since he crushed his last opponent. You can find most of his arguments in Farrel Til's Skeptical Review by searching for "Mark Smith" on the Infidels home page Smith did at least qualify the statement that he never lost a debate with as far as I know, so he's not delusional. |
