I am perplexed, and I figured this was the best place to put this topic:
Why are all the pretty, happy girls religious in some fashion or another?

I have lived in the Mormon Bible-Belt most of my life and have come to notice something. Of the 3 or so atheistic women I know, none of them were especially pretty or outgoing. Granted, this is just my opinion, but has anyone else noticed this? Is it a requirement that you be angry and depressed to be a female atheist?

Im guessing most of this has to do with societal pressures on not-so-pretty girls and being accepted. Is there anywhere where this isn't true?

Im pretty sure I've offended several people and I know this is a stupid topic, but can anyone point me to a pretty and outgoing female atheist? Perhaps a celebrity of some sort?

I've known several. Join a Unitarian church or some other group like The Sierra Club where you'll find thinking open minded individuals.

I read somewhere that Jodie Foster is an atheist, I find her very attractive, though I'm not sure why. In any case, I'm sure there are lots of cute atheist women out there. I just need to find one.

I married a pretty and outgoing female atheist...and as an added bonus, she's very, very smart.

I think it is playing into some unfortunate and fallacious misconceptions to assume that atheists are homely and depressed people. The opposite has been my general impression: you will find some rather socially desperate people who join churches for the community affirmation, while at least some atheists tend to be self-sufficient and self-confident people who are a bit more independent.

(Angelina Jolie is also an atheist, by the way...)

Perhaps the problem is that there just aren't all that many all-around, good looking chicks in the "Mormon Bible belt", theist or not?

I don't personally know since I've lived in Ohio all of my life, but we've got a lot of fine ladies, and the atheist/agnostic chicks I know fit the norm.

Edited to add: Where are those pics of the cute chicks here? I remember seeing some of them, but I'm to lazy at the moment to try and find them myself.

Jodie Foster is indeed a beautiful woman (is it possible to get better looking as the years go by). I don't know if she is religious or not, but I think she "pitches for the other team".

Why is it that guys who complain about women's looks are usually damn ugly themselves?

P.S. I think Jodie pitches for both teams.
