a query of the xians out there
Please satisfy my curiosity for me. I would like to know the general feeling of the xians on these boards (denomination irrelevant) towards clairvoyance and various other aspects of ESP. Now I don't really care about what you think of Miss Cleo specifically, more along the general state of things.

I do have reason to believe i have supernatural power. Fact: I can pluck them out like picking ripe fruit. Theory: Atheists have only "lack of belief" in god(s) in common. Question: THen why my success in predicting them? Possible Answers: 1) Atheism entails certain expected conclusions that are predictable for an atheist to have (other than lack of belief in god(s)) with a greater than average success rate. 2) I have supernatural powers Perhaps...just PERHAPS the answer is 1. but answer #2 is more fun |

I think that there's a chance that there might exist people who may be exceptionally perceptive--or even above average perception could do--and that their natural abilities allow them to "understand" things that average people do not. In all humans, there is a range of abilities in sensing--I don't see why there couldn't exist people who are the extreme high end of sensing and/or interpreting those sensations in a way that seems incredible to people with lower sensing abilities.
I find it amazing to watch contortionists and acrobats, and I would put people who might be considered clairvoyant in a similar/equal level mental-abilities category as I have contortionists in a physical-abilities category. Note: I don't think that people considered clairvoyant would be picking up on my brain waves or anything, just that they are either 1) more skilled at accurately interpreting natural external stimulus or 2) much more sensative to natural external stimulus than the average bear. --tibac |
