Christianity Explained
I suppose this could be placed under the humour section, but I am being somewhat serious.
If you think about it, christianity can be explained using hallucinogenic drugs. I mean, think about it. We have a high Jesus doing "miracles." People speaking in tongues. People seeing things. Maybe the incense today is just a substitute for the drugs they used then. But if you think about it, just about everything can be explained with drugs. |

Seriously, I've heard it suggested that Revelation was the result of hallucinogenic drugs or perhaps ergotism. Of course the rest of the Bible has talking snakes and asses, (holy!) bat-birds and ruminating rabbits...

"...yeah man, and then this bush burst into flames and started waxing all philosophical 'n' shit." "...holy balls dude! look! is that jesus walking on water again? That's fucked up!" Edited to add more profanity [ May 03, 2002: Message edited by: Indifference ]</p> |

There is a book that claims the whole early Christian Church was a 'Magic Mushroom' cult, the "Son of God" was a Hallucinogenic mushoom!

I lean toward the "Temporal Lobe Epilepsy" theory.
It manifests itself in the symptoms of religious visions, alien abductions, illusions of being spoken to by an unseen source. And the thought of being in the presence of some divine force who has given you some task some divine pilgrimage to perform. It may also include violence perpetrated on one's own body. Wolf |
