Thumbs up Hail Fellows Well Met and Goodbye

I wasn't sure where to post my farewell address to the troops, but since I have haunted these unhallowed fora for thousands of posts, it seems appropriate.

I have reached the conclusion that, for me, continued posting here must end; that the repetitive <img src="graemlins/banghead.gif" border="0" alt="[Bang Head]" /> -ness of it all is simply leaving me bruised and angry, reinforcing my worst trait (misanthropy ).

It's my own damn fault, of course, so, please all note the for me qualification when reading this, my last Sec Web rant (don't worry; this one's a short one).

I have brought it on myself by willingly challenging cult members to explain and, worse, defend their own conditioning, which is, of course, identical to demanding a dog explain why it fetches when you throw a stick.

Other than the occasional personified "bark," all you're going to get back to interpret is incoherent gibberish and I'm tired of the pointlessness of it.

This was a wonderful site for me to find way back when and it has helped me stay mentally focused in the Corporate hell I have imposed upon myself for some ungodly reason (that one was for all the cult members ) and I sincerely thank everyone I have interacted with (both positively and negatively) for contributing to my mental salvation in one way or another.

I do so enjoy a passionate debate. Too bad I never actually had one around here .

You've all been kindred spirits and I certainly apologize to one and all who either had to read my bile or was on the receiving end of it, but now, for me, I'm just no longer interested in trying to be polite or courteous in the slightest. Religion is a despicable, terminal disease that has deliberately caused 90% of humanity's problems (and that's being conservative, IMO) and it should be treated as such, but what I didn't get until now is that treating the disease is also detrimental; that the only real "cure" is to dismiss it completely from one's thoughts as a non-entity.

I'm not advocating denial or that anyone else follow suit, of course; for me, it's like the old adage, "There's no such thing as bad press." The power a cult has over its members is not necessarily from indoctrination or even dogma, but merely from the fact that people continue to feed its existence through any thought expended, from any angle.

Even thinking about its removal or about how to deprogram the members, etc., is thinking about "the Cult" and that's what gives it its seemingly everlasting power.

I know, I know; mystical, new age terminology to its core, but then, as many here who ever actually read my posts can attest, I have always been most upset by the manner in which cults steal legitimate, largely unexplored concepts of our existence (because they have been stolen by cults) and pervert them to use against innocent, ignorant minds; the watered-down whiskey used to cover up the snake venom and pig urine Christianity and Islam, especially, inject into their victims from birth to grave.

I hope people will occasionally drop me an email now and then and that you will all try to look back fondly on certain twists of phrases of mine, not for their thinly veiled invective, but for their underlying passion; the desperate need to call a spade a spade.

One final note to luvluv and sotzo (hell, to all the cult members I have loved before ) if they're reading this, since they're the two who challenged me most recently regarding my theory about the NT being Roman propaganda. It's all true.

I know, because I was there. I am the one who wrote it .

Good bye all and Buddha bless!

Why do people engage in these types of ceremonies?
The only reason I could see would be if they could no longer be online. I doubt people would never come back to some place where they spent so much time.

Your departure from these boards is more devastating than learning that Santa Claus was mom and dad. And that's hardly an exaggeration. I, for one, absolutely love your rants and deconstructions of theological implications. They're so well-communicated and reasoned, while expressing the same frustration that I feel. I'll miss you the same as if I actually knew you.

Goodbye, Koy. I've enjoyed reading your concise, well thought out (and...well, extremely long (nobody's perfect, right? )) posts. You will be missed.

Sincerely,

Goliath

I'm sorry to see you go, too Koy. Believe it or not, I always kind of liked you in your own little crazy way. All of our debates got a little contentious but it was never anything serious on my part. I wish you nothing but the best and look forward to seeing your totally immoral films on the big screen !

Red face

SAY IT AIN'T SO, KO!

Who else will shoot down the ridiculous "logic" that Christian "apologists" provide!

You have brought so much to this forum, you will be missed terribly
