Hmm... Denver at Halloween. Colorado Infidels, we expect a report on this poster session by the first week in November. And don't harass Dr Austin unnecessarily....

A bunch of dead molluscs from the Mississippian...which was what, 350 million years ago? Unless they're planning to argue that Noah lived deep in the Carboniferous, I don't see much to console creationists here. I would be interested to see how they twist this little story, though.

I wonder if they will list this as a publication?

John, am I correct that this is an abstract for a presentation that any geologist who joins the GSA, pays the fee to attend the meeting can give?

I think you're right. I don't know for certain, but I don't think that all of the presenters even have to be members of GSA (I think it's just the first author). You may not be able to give a talk (due to time constraints), but you'll be able to present a poster.
