Post AFA doesn't confine itself to "family" issues

Is it not a misnomer for the AFA to call itself the "American Family Association" when it lobbies issues extraneous to the "family values" (e.g. anti gay, anti premarital sex, etc.) set of "problems"? What does the Dr. Pepper can have to do with "family values"?

The Chrysler thing I can maybe see, though I disagree with it, but the Dr. Pepper can has nothing at all to do with "protecting" children from "offensive" content.

"Family values" is just the code word for right wing socially conservative values. It has nothing to do with real families, who are generally interested in economic issues and would just as soon not have the government interfering in their private business.

The "family" being supported by the AFA is headed by a patriarchal male authority figure, a submissive wife, and 2.3 clean, well behaved children who are shielded from upsetting things like pornography. There are no divorces, gay uncles, or pregnant teens in this family. No sir.

Nicely put. As far as I'm concerned, the AFA should call itself the "American Abrahamic-Religious Political Activist (who may or may not have a family) Association", and be intellectually honest about it. EDIT: (Incidentally, since Dr. Evil claims to have invented "quotation fingers", though he can't back that up, can I claim to have invented "parentheses hands" when articulating my new name for the AFA?)

LOL, As of last week the one soda machine at my work, when you got one Dr.Pepper. You would aslo get two more. It was basicly a three for one deal. I wonder if the machine was really broke. Or maybe the vendor is a fundie who is hoping to rip the company off that way. I say its the first but still interesting to consider.
