Maybe I'm the dork in the bunch, but I think the more shocking, more nudity, etc., shown on TV, the lamer it becomes, not vice-versa. A show like "fear factor" to me is just another sign of the creativity wheel being so dead in tv writers that they have to try and think of something more and more shocking so people will tune in. But, then again, I liked "the wonder years".
