We are not the Universe. Whatever else we may appear to be, we are never the universe but at best the centre of the Universe. The universe itself has no existence but all that exists finds its existence in the universe.

God created me and you and the rest of us and if you are not the centre of the Universe you really do not know wo you are.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We're at the centre of the Universe, the Universe is a house, with us on the floor, waters of the deep below, and waters of God's realm above the roof of the house.

No, we are not at the centre but we are the centre of the universe and if we are not the centre of our universe something else is and therefore we live outside of ourselves and do not know who we really are.

No you're mixed up with the planet earth being the centre of the universe which was never a position held by the Church. The argument has always been that we, each one of us, is the center of the universe because the universe has no existene of being but is our own conjecture. Just like time, time does not exist outside of your own mind.

I believe it was held by the church in the middle ages, you know, earth is the centre with the musical magical crystal rings that surround it with each of the planets on those. But dont take that for gospel, i could be wrong

Yes it was always understood wrong. The same is true with the "flat earth" theory in which I hold that the world is still flat today. Heaven and earth are mythical concepts and if they are opposite to each other and heaven is round earth must be flat. Things go wrong when atheist fundies go looking physical evidence to prove mytholgy wrong. It is like looking for a peace of the ark and if you can't find it conclude that the flood never was real.

Edited to add that I argue in favor of a "6000 year old flat earth" because that is when the heavens and the earth were created as opposites in our mytholgy.

Amos,

I notice that you and Albert, with the strange coincidence of both being Catholics, also write with a bit of flair and are known to equivocate many ideas simulateously in a poetic fashion. While that is fine for literary purposes, I do not see how your metaphors do anything but obfuscate and complicate, infuriate and dissimate. What, precisely, are you trying to get across with your abstract posts?

Amos believes in doing a special sort of allegorical interpretation that does not make much sense to me.

It might be amusing to perform Amosian interpretation of other religions, various works of literature, one's favorite movies and TV shows and song lyrics and computer games, etc.

The question was "He created the whole universe. So the creator and lord of all this wastes time by thinking about a single species on an insignificant planet, which he did not even bother to place in the centre of the galaxy, far less the universe?

My point was that God did not create the universe and the first lesson to learn from this is to know what it is you are arguing about.

Nothing is hijacked but perhaps gone past your level of comprehension.

Sure. That's it. You've gone oevr my head.

Yeah, let's get back on the subject- geocentrism and the prominaence of the phallus on the clock of salvation as the female principle enters the yoniplex for her PMS medicine.

Whatever dribble you want to crap out is fine by me.
