Xianity's god is a BIG screw up
I have been an atheist all my life and never exposed to the bible until I was about 21, and now I live in the Dallas area and EVERYONE is a wierdo!
Let me get this right..... This so called "god" made a right hand god that became evil. First screw up. Then he made the first two humans and they screwed up by going against his laws. That is like building a toy and it does not work right. Second screw up! Then he allowed the creation of millions of humans and they all pissed him off, so he killed them all except 2 and some animals. 3rd screw up! The 2 humans he let live, somehow still had the 'curse' from the very first 2 (never understood this one unless it was a mean joke) and now the entire planet is filled with sinning (cursed) humans. 4th screw up! Let's see.... he allowes death, murder, disease and so on.... He is a big F*&CK up in my opinion! I would not have made so many mistakes even as a human! Gosh, I'm glad I was never taught these fairy tales.... |

And, as an omniscient being, he knew he was going to screw up 4 times, he knew he was going to allow original sin, and now it's our job to clean up his mess? Even if god existed, i don't think i would follow him.

Hehe. When you put it that way, God really is a huge screw up, isn't he?
Well, maybe he's not so much a screw up as just an immature child. He tries to build something, and when that something doesn't work the way he wanted to he gets angry and punishes the creation. This is exactly what a child or an impatient adult would do if he failed at something. A deity that immature is not worth my worship. -Nick |

My older brother is mentally retarded. From what I have read of the Bible, he will burn in Hell for eternity since (via his incapacity) to embrace Jesus as his Savior. Jesus did not list exemptions as to being condemned for unbelief.
What is the purpose of a all-loving merciful god to make my brother suffer for eternity, a person who cannot even regret his failure to embrace a doctrine he cannot understand? This makes one question if god in his all-powerful sadism MADE my brother mentally retarded, knowing that he would suffer in Hell for his failure/inability to accept Christ. But then let's look at it a different way. Maybe my brother WILL go to heaven. But he will still be mentally retarded, may very well be ostracised and avoided by that "society" as he is/was on Earth. Then, what was the purpose of our all-loving all-merciful god creating my brother to be mentally retarded in the first place? Just curious. The ways of God are said to be "mysterious." Then again, so are the motivations and acts of serial killers, maniacs, and sadists. |

Dallas, huh? Not exactly freethought city, imo. I'm not the happiest camper to be back here myself.
Thanks for noticing that the people ARE weird here -I often feel like I'm in a real life "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" movie on some days. They really are spooky. It’s their appearance that throws you off the most -only a few have that telltale sloping forehead with the extruding jaw. The rest look like anyone else... But I do find Dallas has less of this behavior than say, Oklahoma or Alabama. Oddly enough, the kids I grew up with that went to catholic schools here are some of the most non religious I know. |

Heh
You would think after practicing for millions and millions of years He would have got it right. Or maybe humans escaped the design lab before final testing was complete and god has been trying to clean up the mess ever since. |

Mostly angry. I have a 'to-be' wife and she comes from a fundy background. Since I was the only Atheist that she has ever met, she slowly changed on her own over a few years. I went to church with her and she watched the Discovery Channel with me. She and I had lunch with Dan Barker and so on....now she is an Atheist as well. Her family hates me and is very, very mean with their words to decribe us. I am "vile", "A Fool", "Sinner", "Corrupt" "Feces" You name it, her family has said it. Many of them refuse to go to our wedding.... Yeah, I'm a bit mad at all the people hurt by Christians...... It's funny, cause I am such a nice moral person that would help anyone out and she always says that I am the model Chrisian..... go figure. |
