First off, let me admit something bad: I tried to commit suicide last night.
Yesterday, at about 5:00 PM pacific time, I swallowed an entire bottle's worth of Excedrin Extra Strength medicice (24 tablets). Each pill consists of 250mg aspirin, 250mg aspartamine(sp?) 65mg caffeine. After siting for about an hour, I didn't feel anything terribly different. However, even longer after, I had dinner whereupon I vomited it all up about 15 minutes after eating. When I went to bed, I was coughing up this foamy junk all night, suffering from the worst stomach ache I've ever had. Today, the pain is not as severe, but I still feel very strange. I had cereal and water this morning, and shortly after eating this, I felt an extreme queasy feeling in my insides. Not just my stomach, but it seemed as if my liver and my kidneys were experiencing problems. I felt a certain sourness in these areas, I can't exactly describe the feeling. At the moment, I feel somewhat better, but I feel dizzy and I feel a strange pain in my lower left back, as if it were my left kidney. Also, that sour feeling still lingers in most of my torso areas. I'm wondering, should I call an ambulance? It's been over a day, and I'm hoping by now that the overdose would have killed me if it was going to do that, but I'm afraid even on the next day because I still feel ill. It seems that whenever I drink or eat something, the problems act up again. I don't want to have to call an ambulance, because I don't want my parents finding out that I tried to overdose, but I regret doing what I did yesterday and I want to seek help if I need it. If I sit back, will it fade away, or should I get medical help? I know this sounds bogus, but it's very serious. Anyone knowledgeable in medical areas? |

I OD'd on Aspirin when I was 13. Get to a doctor, they will want to neutralize the acid with activated charcoal. Are your ears ringing?
I hope you are no longer feeling hopeless, please PM me if you need to talk...but please please go to the doctor to make sure there is no permanent damage. Please tell your parents, they need to know you are in pain. I am sure they do not want to lose you to depression...you need professional help. |

My advice: take yourself, or have someone take you, to the nearest emergency room ASAP. It doesn't matter if it will "fade away" or not, and no one here is qualified to make that call over the net; you need a doctor to check you out in person.
Note that your parents may not have to find out, depending on your age and the laws in the state you live in. Even if they do, I'm sure they in any case will be relieved that you sought medical attention. |

Go to the emergency room. I watched a 14 year old girl die bleeding from every orifice. She had stayed at home for 48 hours before going to the ER. (aspirin OD)

Get emergency medical help now. Don't explain anything you don't want to your parents when they ask, just explain you can tell something is seriously wrong with you and be insistent about needing emergency medical help. Insist on talking to the med people alone.

I'm sorry secular elation, I'm not qualified to give medical advice but I would say visit a doctor asap just to be on the safe side, get yourself checked over.
Don't panic, stay calm. Take a deep breath and please tell your parents. I'm sure they'd rather know so they'll be in a position to help you. Don't worry about anything else for the momment. Go see them now, please be brave. You have my thoughts and hugs. Let me know how you get on as soon as you can but see to yourself first. |

BTW, my aunt suicided by over the counter painkillers. She did die, horribly, after an extended period where she didn't get help. The possible death if you don't could be extremely painful and gruesome.
Please get help. |

Note that those tablets include Acetaminophen, which is normally relatively safe but has been known to cause liver and/or kidney damage when taken in large doses and/or with alcohol. Not meaning to scare SE, but the doctor may need to consider that, and will need to know if he'd been consuming alcohol at the time. |

The consensus is go to the Emergency Room, NOW. Tell them exactly what happened and how many pills you took. We will be here for you when you get back
