Post La. Judge shoots down abstinence programs on religious grounds

<a href="http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A2530-2002Jul25.html" target="_blank">here</a>

A federal judge in Louisiana ruled yesterday that the state illegally used federal money to promote religion in its abstinence-only sex education programs, a decision that could jeopardize President Bush's ambitions for expanding the effort nationwide.

Damn bloody right!
What the hell did those morons expect when they use the money for Bibles and talking about the "Virgin birth".
I find it disgusting that the Bush Administration wants to push this kind of shit nation-wide with my tax dollars.
Abstinance only programs are idiotic in-and-of themselves but adding religion to the mix...ugh.
Good for the ACLU!

Abstinence education never made sense IMO. Geez, you'd think ppl who insist Genesis is literally true would KNOW that teaching them not to have sex just means they'll want to more. <img src="graemlins/banghead.gif" border="0" alt="[Bang Head]" />

Okay, the problem is that they never teach them just how to use these things. You've got to pinch the nipple in the condom, first off.

While abstinence is the only 100% effective way to avoid pregnancy, your ability to avoid it increases exponentially with a few simple methods.

There are alternative sex acts that are equally effective, such as masturbation and oral sex.
