I can't even touch that one for the moment... the mind boggles...

Dude it was on audiotape which was played at the trial!!!

Again, Hindley made the choice to committ those acts. If God stopped a crime every time it was committed, Free will wouldn't exist. Why do you think Christians look forward to Christ's return? So we can leave this sick planet. But you guys value Earth so much you can't possibly imagine why we would want to leave

It was just an example since we don't know whether God helped her or not. He could have by saving her from more pain and suffering, who knows. And i didn't bother reading the article since its the same dumb claims by atheists that God can't exist because there are so many sick, evil humans

Since you don't believe in God, all fault for crimes falls on humans anyway. Its the same with God, you choose to do dumb, sick evil things, its your responsibility and yes its tragic that it happens, but thats how incredibly bad sin and disobeying God is. To us, the evil in the world just goes to show you how completely hopeless we are without God. But the world would be even worse if God wasn't here. Because a world without God is called Hell.

In other news, under the category of "Things that make you go hmmmmm...." there's this

How so? If God doesn't intervene in earthly affairs so as to avoid depriving us of our Free Will, why would things be any different?

Magus55:
If God stopped the criminals he just removed their free will.

Horseshit.

Keeping someone from committing a crime can be done without taking away their free will.

Magus55:
THEY made the choice to committ that atrocity, they disobeyed God and used their Free will for evil, ...

Except that Jesus Christ had taught that one must remove body parts that lead one to commit sins.

So if free will makes one commit sins, then one is better off without it.

One can always take the Heaven's Gate approach.

Yea Magus55. I've followed your posts for some time and take my hat off to you. You get slagged rotten just because you believe something POSITIVE. Any Tom, Dick or Harry can adopt a negative position.

So come on chaps (and chapesses) givec Magus a break.

On the specific subject which has been drowned under unneccessary derisive responses, a great ignorance of sin and it's consequences is being paraded. The problems of life, evil, war etc cannot be understood outside an understanding of sin.

to you all!!!

Please check your own assumptions. We know exactly what she prayed--she called aloud to God to help her--and we know what happened to her after she prayed: she was sexually abused and tortured some more, and then she was killed. She received no different treatment than their other victims.

2. She was 10, i don't believe she had the capability to fully know who God was and what the wages of sin were. Nonetheless, i believe God to be just. He will do the right thing.
The problem with this reasoning is that any parent who wants his or her children to go to heaven should murder them before they're old enough to make any kind of choices. You took exception to the suicide remark and I expect you will take exception to this one too, but I don't think I'm exaggerating here because this seems to be exactly the reasoning used by many parents who murder their children--and I think this is one of the dangers of this kind of reasoning.

Although, reflecting a bit more on what you just said, I see you left some wiggle room on this one. So you think that maybe, just maybe, she did go to Hell after all? And if she did, it was a just act by God? That it was the right thing to do?

Actually, that's not quite the claim most of us are making. (Although we do tend to find a bit odd the idea that God allows evil people who will do unspeakable things to children to exist, simply to teach us some kind of lesson. And that lesson is apparently that... um... evil people exist who will do unspeakable things to children!)

Likewise, we find a bit odd the idea that God would have created a world in which he/she/it knew such sick, evil humans would exist, and called it good.
