Ironically, I think Jesus floating into the sky is several orders of mangnitude more likely than Doherty being right.
Of course you do Tercel. Of course you do......

Keep it up Tercel and you`re sure to have god stick the most little gold stars on your head when you get to Heaven.

Huh? Bede's list has 3 verses of Paul appealing to Jesus' ("the Lord's") teachings: 1 Cor 7:10; 1 Cor. 9:14; 1 Thess. 4:15
Also, I would note that Paul repeats Jesus' teaching that "love thy neighbour" is above the other Commandments. (Compare Mat 22:36-40 and Romans 13:9 for example)

"Lord". Is Paul referring to Yahweh or Jesus?

Your problem here is that you don't compare enough.

Leviticus 19:18
Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.

Matthew 22:39
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself

Romans 13:9
Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

I submit that Matthew, Paul and Jesus got it from Leviticus.

I already answered that one in my previous post: Jesus.
It's an obvious assumption given that Paul's usage of "Lord" is clearly a reference to Jesus in many many passages. (There might be some times when Paul uses "Lord" as a reference to Yahweh, but if so I am not aware of them.)

I know it's coming from leviticus, but what you haven't done is noted what I said:
That both Paul (see the context of 13:9) and Jesus place "love thy neighbour" above the other commandments. Leviticus in no way compares loving thy neighbour with the 10 commandments.

  • Romans 13
9 for, `Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false testimony, Thou shalt not covet;' and if there is any other command, in this word it is summed up, in this: `Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself;'

Paul does not place it "above" the others. He merely notes that all the other commands are summed up in the Great Commandment. There's no explicit reference to Jesus here, and no above-ness either.
  • 1 Corinthians 9
14In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel.

Curious: Where is this paralleled in the gospels?

1 Corinthians 7
  • 10To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband.

This is not Jesus' teaching. Jesus taught divorce was permissable.

Is it too late to join the party?

I haven't really followed the debate here, but the OP did ask for references to early Christian atrocities, so I thought I would mention Vlassis Rassias. His book (unfortunately in Greek, and not translated that I know of) DEMOLISH THEM is about the destruction of Hellenism by the early Christians. I did have a site bookmarked on it, but I appear to have misplaced it- so I found another one- Christian Persecutions against the Pagan Hellenes.
It's depressing to read, because it's not just deaths, it's burning libraries, closing schools, and turning many of those glorious marble temples of the ancient Greeks into lime after knocking them down.
Hope it's useful to you.
