I guess we all have heard the Nigerian woman's stoning by the Sharia court over there. What pissed me like shit is he was acquited because he didn't have four witnesses to testify against him! FOUR witnesses? Like you want to invite your whole family and watching you fucking a girl up involuntarily!!!

There has to be an intervention! If Bush can lauch a war against iraq, he should sent troops to topple the Sharia and the Islamic state government over there. Screw diplomacy shit! A woman's life is in danger!!!

Not to be an Eeyore about this, but I suspect the chances of Bush actually sending in troops to Nigeria to prevent the execution of one (1) woman are comparable to the chances that he'll be grand marshal at the San Francisco Gay Pride parade.

George Bush and Tony Blair will make the appropriate concerned noises (if they haven't already) but if the condemned woman is to be reprieved, it will have to be at the hands of the Nigerian government.

On a related topic, former President Clinton was speaking out on her behalf. Given his own history, this may not have been exactly helpful to her cause.

Don't get me wrong. I'm as disgusted by this case as you are but Bush is preoccupied by bigger issues. If she were American, then they might make some angrier noises, but otherwise I doubt it.

On a serious note, what can be done in the West is to put pressure on our own muslims to denounce this sort of thing. The Shari'a has no place in the modern world.
