entropic: As far as "known gods" go, I am athistic. However it seems to me to be slightly arrogant to claim that i KNOW there are no deities of any kind. This is why i am an agnostic.
I don't know why, but this bugs me every time I hear it. Ah, I guess it's the subtle (?) implication that only arrogant people would call themselves atheist. I'm an atheist because I don't believe in any gods. I don't have any belief in gods. I don't believe that any exist. Is there any other way I can say it? I don't "claim that I KNOW there are no deities of any kind." I don't have to, to be atheist--without belief in any. Dianna. www.geocities.com/atheistview/ |
