Take a minute to think
I remember when all the hoo-ha about Harry Potter flared up x-tians were up in arms(almost). They were on telly saying the bible is very clear on witches.
Take the issue of homosexuality. The bible is very clear on it. Suicide bombers. The koran is very clear about suicide. Peace. Book x is very clear on the issue of peace. 'Yes but what do you think' 'Book x is very clear on what I think' It's the off the shelf morality that is annoying. They are told what to believe, who to love, who to hate, what is a crime, what is acceptable. |

They (the theists) say they worship God, but in fact they worship descriptions of Him in books. They are book-worshippers.
Me, I shun the worship of books. I worship Nature, which is God and Goddess. |

It would help if they did the same after they encountered a book that tells them to think for themselves, wouldn't it?

No, because then it would be a "false religion" and they'd need to pray to God for strength to stay away from it
