Blu,
In one of the deleted posts, you complain that ReasonableDoubt was just a heckler who kept on criticizing without contributing anything helpful. My sympathy--the same thing happened to me in this thread. ReasonableDoubt just kept on with his negative attitude, and although he had some valid points, they were expressed in a style that fell significantly short of civility. Also, I can't think of a good criticism he made that wasn't also made by a more civil poster. I was aware, of course, that most people on this board (and off it, for that matter) would disagree with my beliefs. But the other people were civil about it, and I respect people like Typhon, Synaesthesia, Jamie_L, and Ron Singh. Not so with ReasonableDoubt. |

ReasonableDoubt asks hard questions, sometimes in a blunt way- but I do not see that as 'heckling'. I find it good to be opposed, myself- it keeps me honest, and helps me refine my own thoughts.
This thread is done. Blu, if you do this again in the EoG forum- erase your posts in a thread you voluntarily start, or participate heavily in- I will suggest to my fellow mods that your posts be transferred to RR&P. |
