My brother used to be in a troupe in NYC called "Little Man" that performed at the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theatre and other places in Manhattan and occaisionally did stuff with UCB (he was even on their TV show a couple times).

Good luck on your debut!
No, it's a troupe called The Rail House Comedy Train. Our group was founded by a guy who was with a group called the Renegade Comedy Olympics up in Duluth, and a bunch of people who took a course on Improv comedy at the University I attend.

I'm a teacher. My also-atheist husband is a software developer. At least he WAS, until his 7th job in 11 years downsized and laid him off. AARGH!

I work as a prepress/photo tech at the local newspaper.
My duties include scanning and editing photographs for optimum reproduction, building commercial print products, and proofreading. I also send products to film (where it is laser-imaged before being burned onto the plates for press) and checking said film. I also build the classifieds on occasion, build the employee newsletter, and build some ads. Every product we print passes through prepress, and so we have a very varied workload from day to day and week to week. It makes for a rather fun job. I also get a 4-day 10-hour shift, so I get 3-day weekends every week.

I have noticed a larger portion of atheists/agnostics in the newspaper industry than in the general population. Here about 75% of the population is Mormon, but in my office that percentage drops to around 55%. It seems to have a connection to the large number of liberals in the media. I have certainly seen my political ideology swing slightly leftward since beginning work here.

Salt Lake Trib? Love that paper, a beacon of light in a fog of ignorance. I read it regularly from the website www.sltrib.com since moving to Oklahoma three years ago from Stansbury Park, Utah. I lived out there for 11 years and for about 8 years prior within the reach of Utah television stations in Colorado and Wyoming.

One thing I noticed among the humanist and atheists out there in Utah, there was an inordinate number of college professors and doctors. This and the fact that the Mormon church seems to have a over-representative number of lawyers, which seemed almost completely absent from the group I'm refering to, made me theorize as follows: doctors, having hands on experience with life and death seem to be very pragmatic about those issues, professors often use logic to arrive at their personal philosophies, but lawyers are often able to view things in the very abstract in swaying juries to believe certain things contrary to the actual physical evidence, much as would be required for one to make a leap of religious faith.

One day, I hope to return to Utah, at least for a visit.

Oh yeah, my profession: Professional Mouse Mover. Actually, I sit in front of five computer monitors watching oil and gas production and processing from Wyoming to the Gulf of Mexico on 12 hour rotating shifts. I say "watch" because that is about all I am able to do with the limited system I have.
