Post Buddhism from a naturalistic viewpoint

I think that Buddhism, especially the older form called Theravada Buddhism, has value for rationalists. Although not exactly an atheistic religion (as it is sometimes said to be), Buddhism is relatively unconcerned with matters of belief, and Buddhist meditation appeals to some atheistic or agnostic philosophers and psychologists because of the insight it offers into mental functioning.
