Uhm... Before the flood, earth was all soft and fluffy, like Huggabunch-land, so when the ice meteors hit, they just came to a nice comfy rest. It was when they melted when the problems occured.

You know how if you soak a towel and just dump it on the floor instead of putting it into the dryer with a dryer sheet, it dries out all hard and scratchy? That's what happened to the earth after the flood. If God had used fabric softener when he washed away the sinners, the earth would still be a soft happy hugging place.
