Thumbs up Thank God for Georgia's Politicians

Religious conservatives struggled during session

Quote:
In a year when Republicans held some power in the legislature for the first time since the 19th century, religious conservatives could do no better than get two bills through the GOP-controlled Senate.
As they have in previous years, both measures died in the House, where Democrats still hold a majority.
''In the House, it was the same old, same old,'' said Rep. Sue Burmeister, R-Augusta, secretary of the House Republican Caucus.

Legislation allowing a brief ''educational period'' each day in public schools during which students could speak about their religious beliefs to their classmates went nowhere in the Senate.
Is this the latest attempt to sneak public prayer into schools?

"Religious Conservatives?" I think you're being kind. "Radical Religious Minority" is more accurate, or maybe just "Religious Radicals".
