Philosophical Lawyers?
I have noticed a very annoying trend on this board: the tendency to request more explanation than is warranted.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I think about philosophical issues to try and make sense of the world, not to play lawyer. I fucking hate lawyers. |

El_Hober:
Yes, it's annoying that so many broader issues can be derailed into debates about the semantics of specific terms and nitpicking about specific issues pertinent to the "broader" issues, but that's the bane of philosophy my friend. If you want to step closer to the absolute then this is the bridge you must cross. Otherwise, if you merely wish to be told what is and what is not, then Zarathustra and his infinite wisdom is only a short trip to the library away. |
