Default New species of Weed identified in York

Not the most exciting new species, but a new species all the same and of particular interest to me as I lived in York for some 14 years

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article...584528,00.html

Irrefutable proof of macro evolution?
If so the IDers are proved wrong on yet another count, except this evolutionary evidence seems stronger and simpler to explain (important considering the brain level of the average creationist). This cannot be refuted as “just a theory” or lost in the uncertainties of identification through the fossil record, this is a living viable new species of weed evolved naturally and existing and reproducing without the aid of man.

Not that that will convince any of the Adam and Eve lobby I suppose, but it would be amusing to hear justification of how this fits in with I.D.

But do creationists come here any more?

Still it might be handy for those who like to besiege the IDers on the xian forums.

Gahh, its not quite as good as I expected. Its a plant hybrid that happens to be fertile.

Technically its a new species of course, but its not as impressive as a species that diverged through allopatric speciation might be, but they take much too long to notice. Creationists can simply respond that its not a new species, but 'only' a hybrid. (scientifically incorrect, of course but when has that stopped them?)

It's just variation. You still don't see cats turning into dogs or rocks turning into humans.....

I was expecting a bunch of rednecks in the southeast to have accidentally bread marijuana into a new species or something.

Variation?

Granted its a Hybrid turning in to a new species, but a new species is a new species... or does this weed agree with ID?

Of course it does! EVERYTHING agrees with ID.

Everything disagrees with evolution because it's a filthy stantic lie. Rocks do not turn into people!!

Ps. since you're new here, I'll let you know that I'm not really that stupid. I'm just mocking creationist stupidity.
